This morning I was up by five in order to meet the gang and photograph the sunrise.   Actually there were only four of us that made it- the regular group who seemed to relish the idea of going to bed really late and getting up really early!   We drove down the street in Lions Head  to a nearby beach.    It  was nice and peaceful  watching the sunrise which I rarely get a chance to do.   In the afternoon our outing was to Singing Sands Beach.   This huge sandy beach is named after the sound that occurs when the wind whistles through the sand dunes.  The beach was located  on Lake Huron which meant we would  spend the afternoon there, have a picnic dinner and photograph the sunset.  The sunset pictures will be included in the next blog. 

I loved these beautiful colours that emerged as the sun came up.

It was a good morning for the sunset with some nice clouds and colour.

I liked this view with the reflections of the beautiful colour on the water.

A slightly different viewpoint.  As you can tell the beach was very rocky-not much fun for swimming in this spot.

Now some scenery from Singing Sands.  There was a lot of forest area in the park which we walked through first looking for some wild flowers but we found we were too late for the most part.  The next several pictures show some images of the sand.  I loved the patterns and textures.

I was going for an artistic look in this one.

Something a little different as I changed the white balance in the camera to fluorescent.

This shot was taken on the other side of the beach.   I liked the sand patterns next to the rocks.   

Back to a nice scenic shot of the water looking out on the lake.

This shot was taken from the opposite direction, looking towards the park.  You can see some of us photographers in the background.

For the last shot, I included a fun one of a couple members of our group.  The water was so warm that we were able to wade everywhere.
