From the Pacific Coast to San Hose

May 29, 2012  •  2 Comments

Unfortunately our final day arrived much to soon.  We left the hotel after breakfast and spent the day driving back to San Hose.   I had a terrific trip and I'm pretty sure everyone else on the workshop did as well.  I liked everything about Costa Rica- the people, the food, the scenery, the wildlife and the weather.  Of course I wouldn't have had such an awesome trip without our leaders and the rest of our group.

The morning we left I wandered around the hotel grounds.  Everywhere was so pretty.

I came across these beautiful Bougainvillea flowers which are native to South America.

We saw these everywhere in Costa Rica.

We stopped off at a local cemetery to take some photos.  I saw this family walking down the road.

This little girl  heard us and turned around to see what was going on.

Now her brother had to see as well.

He lost interest quickly but his sister was still interested in our  group.

Someone from our bus (probably our excellent guides or bus driver) spotted these Scarlet Macaw Parrots in the tree.  Not an easy feat as the birds were very high up in the trees.

Now he was spreading his wings a little.  You can see his colouring a little better in this photo.  Since  the birds were way up in the trees so this is a heavily cropped photo.

A water scene near where we saw the parrots.

We stopped for lunch at an interesting fishing spot beside  the water.  I liked the look of this old boat.

There were fishermen fixing their nets.

On the way back we stopped to look at alligators in the water (from a long way off).

Just before arriving at the hotel, we stopped at a souvenir shop.  I liked how the light was falling on the lily pond.

Terrific, Marsha! I loved the boat as well. Great capture of the rich color and textures, and great point of view.

What a great adventure, Marsha. And your pictures capture a little bit of everything--the children, the fishermen, the alligator, the birds. Loved it all. Thanks for sharing. (loved the boat!)
